14 Weeks and Counting!
We are counting how far we have come and not how much time we have left. We are so thankful for these precious 14. Last night Zoe asked if she could kiss the baby goodnight. Tender moments, I want those to linger like the aroma of pine trees after a spring rain. Other moments are treasures but also bring humor to heart as well. Like when Zoe asked if we were going to find out if the baby was a white baby or a brown baby. Or when Amia asked if we were going to the Dr. to find out if I was really pregnant or just fat! I love these moments. They come and go so quickly and often before the next breath is taken there are forgotten.
14 weeks
The baby is the size of an average fist. Every week we have been going through a series of random objects to place in the girls minds of the baby’s size. (By the way we call him Gus; Geoff wants to name him Genghis) (No we don’t know whether it’s a girl or a boy yet) Each week we grow a little more. We started with a pinto bean, a grape, a plum, an orange you get the idea. They have had so much fun relating to Gus this way and seeing how amazingly fast he grows. At 14 weeks hair starts to grow! Fingerprints are beginning to show their Masters design. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise! Psalms 48:1. I have to admit that regularly throughout the week I forget what an intricate miracle our children are. What an incredible display of God they truly are. So often I think if God could be here with me in person, if I could touch Him in a tangible way then things would be easier for me. Even as I write that I am convicted of the insanity of such a statement! God is with me here and has given me so many tangible ways to touch Him. Guess I just needed the reminder. We are thankful and blessed for week 14 and our other miracles as well. I have to go find and hug my kids now….
