This is the Day…..
It’s 3:30 on Sunday morning.
God woke me from a deep sleep; my heart is singing this morning.
Lord prepare me to be a sanctuary
Pure and Holy tried and true,
With thanksgiving I’ll be a living sanctuary for you….
This is the day, a day of worship. God set it aside just for Him. He knew how crazy we can make life and in all that “busy”ness we surround ourselves with we would easily forget to worship our creator and Savior. I have to admit I am guilty. Even though Sunday has been set aside for me to worship, I am still running and barely even remember my Sunday morning “worship.
Please know that worship should be done anytime anywhere, not just one specific day. I am just saying that if its being neglected on the one day God set aside for it then most likely those other times are too. I know I am guilty of this very thing; He is convicting me faster than my hand can write. He woke me up at 3:30 in the morning so that I could worship Him. He knew that I needed that time praising Him. I have spent so much time on my knees begging and pleading with God, but how have I misplaced the praise and adoration I have for my Heavenly Father.
Our Family has been singing This is the Day for as long as I can remember. This song has been an integral part of many of memories in our family. In fact the girls were singing it in the car on our way to the last sonogram. It is precious to me for so many reasons but today, it has new meaning. A simple song but it lifts the heart so. You can’t help but recognize what God has done when you sing it.
A dear friend of mine taught me one way how to worship, by going through the alphabet, use one word and describing who God is by that letter. Feel free to add your own or fill in my blank spots.
God is:
A – All, Available
B – Beautiful , Breath of Life
C - Creator
D – Divine
E – Everlasting
F – Friend, Feared, Father
G – Good
H – Holy
I – Innocent
J – Just
K – Knowing, King
L – Loving
M – Merciful
N – Never Vindictive - thanks tami
O – Overflowing
P- Pure
Q – Quiet - thanks angela
R – Radiant
S- Shepherd, Strength
T – Truth, Timely
U – Understanding
V- Victorious
W- Wisdom
X - Exalted
Y –
Z –Zealous
Another friend shared with me Psalms 145 and I couldn’t stop reading till I got to the end of 150 what a perfect way to end the book of Psalms.
Psalm 150
1 Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet; praise him with the harp and lyre,
4 praise him with tambourine and dancing; praise him with the strings and flute,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.
I give credit to whomever wrote the songs listed above I dont know protocal there.
