Thought for the Day

I was listening to the radio today when the DJ started to go-on and on about a football player. She described how he much he loved the game. How it was his life and passion. She also went on to say that he had just signed a contract for 72 million dollars. She finished her gushing about the concept of having that much money by saying. Can you imagine doing what you love and get paid an incomprehensible amount of money to do so. It would just be icing on the cake.

The icing on the cake concept is somewhat lost on me since I will only tolerate the cake to get to the icing. My husband who is not fond of icing enlightened me by being one of those people who only eats the cake! Yes, he gives me his extras. ANYWAY!

My thought was this; shouldn’t my love and passion be like that for Christ? Shouldn’t I love serving Him so much so that all the blessings He pours out on me would just be icing on the cake?

I wish that could be said of me but both God and I know another story where more often than I would like to admit I am cramming down the cake to just to get to the icing........

As I am typing God is convicting me. NICE, real nice Holland.

I have been sooo very desperate to move on with Aida's death that I have not been taking the time to rest In His love. To be still and know that He is God. Just to be with Him..........
I just wanted to get past all the hurt, and get on to the "good" stuff.

Well I can't very well write more right now.
So, I am off to spend some time with my creator.
No icing involved.
