Sande over at hizbabe.blogspot.com tagged me to pick the 6th photo in my 6th album, and tell the story behind that picture and tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same... I'm choosing 5 friends since the whole number 6 - 3 times bugs me just a bit. Anyway. This so much fun even though every bone in me wanted to cheat, but being the upstanding citizen that I am I followed through with the rules. Well that and my husband leaning over my shoulder accusing me of not being able to count correctly. So here's the story behind this picture. I can't help but smile when I see it. After 9 years of being a parent Geoff finally made his maiden voyage to the unknown territory of parental doom. Chuckee Cheese was waiting to greet him! As I think back on it now I am sure that Geoff started twitching before we entered the parking lot. How he has escaped the giant matted mouse thus far i think can only be attributed to my greatness as a wife. I can no longer count on all my digits how many times we have been to the land of greasy pizza fingerprints. Where all the children's voices become one in a harmonious whine that is truly not better with age. We (meaning the children and I) have been enough times that we now know the tricks of the trade. We know the hours the workers throw ticket confetti and who to talk to when the machines don't work to get double tokens for our troubles and now we can look beyond the counter to the wall for our dollar store prizes.
To be fair Geoff's induction into Chuckee Cheese was a harsh one. Hmm maybe that's why I cant help but smile. To begin with Geoff is a bit of a germ-a-phobe, what better place than Chuckee's to cure him? The night this picture was taken of Zoe, was a Friday night and the place was packed and trashed. Half eaten pizza, dirty diapers and vomit were mingling together in the torpedo tube, and the mass of people crammed into that place would make any normal person go into spastic convulsions. Despite all this the kids had a blast and have been back at least 3 times since. Geoff, on the other hand has not.

Loved the photo before I even read the explanation... And I too am yet to discover Chucky Cheese. Nothing like it over here.
I kinda wish I could have been there, just to see the look on my brother's face when he walked into the nightmare that is Chuck E. Cheese. Then again, I avoid that place like the black death...maybe germaphobia and dislike for disgruntled 20-somethings in costumes runs in the family...
