It has been too long dear friend since I have taken the time to soak in your cathartic embrace. I have become obsessed with making sure all my obligatory ducks are in a row before I take the time to indulge in writing. This week however seemed to laugh in my face at the mere thought of accomplishing such a feat. The mocking cry whispered words of doubt as I dared to even consider time sequestered away just for me? Determination boiled within me as I faced the day with caffeinated kyrptonite holstered in my cart. One stop to make and 3 things to accomplish and the bliss would be mine! I could taste it as I hurriedly walked the aisles snatching the deals to make my day. Excitement built with each step closer to the cash register.........That is until my card was denied! Denied I stomped my foot with toddler tantrum like enthusiasm and told them they were wrong! I called the bank and they too told her she was wrong. No matter they would not take my card. I would have to go to bank and have a new card printed to be able to use it there. GGGggggrrrrr (another reason for me to just function in cash!) oohh and somewhere in that process one child ran over the other with a cart full of food. So you can better understand the picture of what we have here is:
1. Un-showered holey jean wearing sweaty mom ( i was previously mowing the lawn but discovered we were out of milk for breakfast) I totally fit the stereotypical part of someone not able to pay their bill
3 hungry very impatient girls
1 child sprawled out on the floor screaming as though she had just been run over by a fruit truck......oh ya, she was!
1 child melting down because she thinks she just killed her sister by involuntary manslaughter!
1 child whining hysterically about her headache that I have ignored for the last month.
Of course this was all simultaneously happening while I am trying to discuss my options with the manager! This they can do all that at the same time but all 3 of them to look nicely at the camera for a picture is asking to much? Our day quickly fell apart after that. Every stop we made added 2 more stops to the day!
What is it that when you can see the day falling to pieces around you everyone else wants to jump on board that sinking ship!
So our day with only 1 stop in it turned into 11 unproductive stops! Upon arriving home we discovered a gas burner had been left on for 4hrs and a charred teapot had squealed its last!
We all breathed a prayer of thanks for saving our home. And resigned to find that elusive peace another day! Maybe when they finally decided to lock whats left of this crazy mom in a padded room I will find rest.
(some children played more than one part in the making of this episode of Mommy's gonna blow!)

10I rejoice greatly in the Lord that at last you have renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you have been concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. 11I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

One of those days
